Japan Final GDP q/q
What it means
Japan Final GDP q/q is the last estimate of quarter-on-quarter change in Japan’s inflation-adjusted economic output. It updates earlier GDP releases as more complete source data become available, so the revision can matter more than the headline itself. Look beyond the total at household consumption, business investment, public demand, inventories and net exports; they reveal where growth came from. GDP is broad and backward-looking, not a current inflation reading or a policy decision. Markets compare the outcome with the prior estimate, forecast and recent momentum. A material revision can affect views on Japan’s recovery, Bank of Japan normalization and JPY, but it should be read with wages, prices and activity data.
