UK Financial Policy Committee Meeting Minutes

What it means

The UK Financial Policy Committee (FPC) Meeting Minutes explain the Bank of England committee’s assessment of risks to the resilience of the UK financial system. They can cover household and corporate debt, bank capital, credit conditions, property markets, liquidity and non-bank finance, together with any macroprudential recommendations or directions. The FPC is not the Monetary Policy Committee: its main role is financial stability, not setting Bank Rate. Markets review the minutes for changes in the assessment of systemic risk and any policy tools that could affect lending conditions. Read them with the Financial Stability Report and the MPC decision; the document does not itself announce a routine interest-rate decision.
