SNB Quarterly Bulletin
What it means
The Swiss National Bank Quarterly Bulletin is an analytical publication rather than a new policy-rate decision. It brings together the SNB’s discussion of the Swiss economy, monetary and financial conditions, inflation, exchange-rate developments and selected statistics. For markets, it can help explain the framework behind previous communications and reveal which themes the Bank is monitoring, but it should not be treated as an automatic signal of the next rate move. Compare its assessment with the latest SNB monetary-policy decision, forecast and press conference. CHF can react if the bulletin materially changes the perceived inflation or currency-risk balance, though the response is often smaller than to an actual policy announcement. Always distinguish new analysis from already known policy.
