SECO Economic Forecasts
What it means
SECO Economic Forecasts are projections from the Swiss government’s economic experts for the expected path of the economy. They are forecasts, not a realized GDP release and not a Swiss National Bank policy decision. Updates can cover growth, inflation, employment, external demand and the assumptions behind the baseline. The key information is the change from the previous forecast, the horizon and the risks around the central case, rather than a single headline number. Compare the outlook with current data and the SNB’s own assessment, which may use different assumptions or timing. A sizeable forecast revision can alter how markets frame Switzerland’s growth and inflation outlook, but it does not mechanically determine SNB policy or CHF.
